THE SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL CONFERENCE ON DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES
42On April 7, a scientific-practical conference "Development of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies as a Condition for Food Abundance and Healthy Nutrition of the Population" was held at the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, dedicated to World Health Day.
The speakers proudly emphasized the words of the Honorable President: "The socio-economic power of our independent state, its cultural progress, the happiness and well-being of our people, the health of society, and the harmonious physical and spiritual development of future generations are closely interconnected. Guided by these high goals, and in line with our policy 'The State is for the People!' and 'The Motherland is Motherland only with its People! The State is State only with its People!', we are carrying out large-scale reforms in all sectors of the economy, science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, and tourism."
The speeches highlighted that agricultural reforms form the basis for the prosperous life of the people. The Honorable President, Hero- Arkadag, always pays great attention to the scientific development of agriculture, setting strategic tasks. These include continuing scientific research, improving breeding work, developing high-yielding and disease-resistant varieties of cotton and wheat adapted to local natural and climatic conditions, obtaining high yields of other crops, timely soil care, increasing the experience of scientists, enhancing their professional level, improving methods of cultivating crops in spring and autumn, and effectively adopting both national farming traditions and advanced world practices.
Neutral Turkmenistan is developing cooperation in the agricultural sector with countries around the world and international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
In Turkmenistan, great attention is paid to the development of villages on par with cities and the modernization of living conditions for rural residents. As a result, the living standards of our compatriots engaged in agriculture and land work are continuously improving.
Work also continues on the development of livestock farming, poultry farming, gardening, greenhouse, and fish farming industries, along with the introduction of advanced methods and innovative technologies in these areas. Scientifically based work is being carried out to increase livestock numbers and ensure the effective use of grazing lands. Small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in agriculture receive comprehensive support.
The conference participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their efforts aimed at the scientific development of agriculture.
