VIZIT TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF TURKMEN CARPET
34Recently, professors and students of the S.A.Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University visited the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets and got acquainted with the delights of our ancient art.
The students looked at the ancient carpets and carpet products displayed in the museum and were interested in the work being done to study and preserve them. The fact that the largest hand-woven carpets in the world are kept here, and their weaving history, made a great impression on the young people.
As is known, the document "Turkmen National Carpet Art", submitted by Turkmenistan at the 14th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage on December 12, 2019 in Bogota, Colombia, was included in the UNESCO List of Outstanding Examples of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
At the museum, the students listened to interesting information from the books of our Hero Arkadag, and became eyewitnesses of the beauties discussed. As noted in the book "The Living Legend", the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets has collected over eight thousand historical carpets and modern hand-woven carpets. Currently, they are being replenished with new collections.
In the speeches here, many thanks were expressed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gahryman Arkadag, and to our esteemed President, Gahryman Serdar Arkadagly, who create vast opportunities for studying and developing our national carpet weaving art.
