Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov is a university training specialists for the agricultural sector and textile industry of the country.

Since its foundation (1930), the University has trained tens of thousands of highly trained agronomists, veterinarians and zootechnicians, hydromelioration and agricultural mechanization engineers, economists, accountants, processing technologists, textile specialists and engineers.

Experienced professors and teachers creatively work with the main goal of training modern professionals in the departments of the university. There are Master Teachers of Turkmenistan, doctors and candidates of sciences, experienced professors, associate professors and senior teachers among them.

The training centers “John Deere” and “Caterpillar”(the United States of America) and “Claas”( the Federative Republic of Germany) function in the university, where students learn secrets of managing of modern and high-performance agricultural machinery.

Necessary conditions have been created in the University's experimental field for the joint scientific-research and experimental work of scientists, professors and students.

The Botanical Garden, the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Research and Production Center, and the Scientific and Production Experimental Center in Magtymguly District are in the structure of the university. In these centers, theoretical trainings and research work with students are widely integrated with production.

The University's Agroindustrial secondary vocational schools in Ashgabat, Mary and Lebap provinces, are training modern specialists with special secondary education for the agricultural and textile industries of the country.

There are computer classes, equipped with modern computer facilities, comfortable dormitories, a central canteen, a students’ bathroom, social service points, equipped indoor and outdoor sports grounds, large and small conference halls, a library includes scientific and fiction literature, a spacious reading room, an electronic reading room, historical and animal museums, and a health service room in the university.

At their free time, students actively participate in various sports competitions, creative competitions and artistic activities at the Altyn Asyr Cultural Center of the university.

The Library

The Library of Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov has all conditions for the perfect implementation of the unprecedented efforts of the President to make Turkmen youth to be modern scientists, educated and world-class high qualified specialists in accordance with international standards. In addition to the 110-seat library, teachers and students enjoy uninterrupted use of the 50-seat electronic library, which is based on modern computer programs, as well as the high-speed Internet. It is also necessary to strengthen the material and technical base of the library during the academic year, as well as the preparations for the improvement of the electronic reading of the library and the creation of a unified system of electronic libraries of educational institutions of our country and its integration into the Internet. The university has a state-of-the-art library with about 500,000 books for extensive study and use in research work. The fund of the University Library is constantly enriched with a variety of modern publications from a new edition.


The students of the Turkmen Agricultural University have all the opportunities to become modern, skilled professionals in their field. Our University's Animal World Museum is of great importance in providing modern, advanced, in-depth education to students and in strengthening their theoretical knowledge in their minds. The museum has rich museum values and traces. Its history back to the 1970s. The presence of dozens of museums dating back to the beginning of the last century shows that they are scientifically significant. The fact, that the museum has not only representatives of the fauna of our country, but also the presence of species found in other countries of the world and their joint names in Turkmen, Latin and Russian, further enhances the practical and scientific value of the museum. There are photos of our hero Arkadag in Turkmen nature, encyclopedic works "Medicinal plants of Turkmenistan" in the main part of museum. The wonderful phrase of our dear Arkadag: "Consciousness and genuine ownership of nature is one of the key ways to a perfect society." in Turkmen, English and Russian is in the central part of the museum. The museum's values are invaluable in awakening the love of nature for young people. The section on the Predators, Bats, and Primates of the Museum contains the speeches of the relevant representatives from all over the country and abroad, and the relevant representatives of the Museum registered in our country in water, on land and water, reptiles.


Museum of Pathological Anatomy at the Department of Animals’ Disease, Diagnosis and Treatment were established in 1933 and were rebuilt in 1991 and relocated to a new education building. There are all the necessary things for the modern education of students and the bones of various animals in the museum. The Anatomy Museum accurately describes the location of bone fragments in the bones of various animals, including the topographical location of the muscle blood vessels, nerve fibers, and internal organs. The Museum of Anatomy allows for a high level of practical training in the subjects taught by the teachers of the department. The main purpose of the Museum of Pathological Anatomy is to educate students on the morphological changes in various organs and tissues of animals and to acquire them to diagnose them with modern morphological methods. At the museum there are infectious diseases: tuberculosis of cattle, brucellosis, salmonellosis, Para tuberculosis, blackheads, leprosy, mammals of birds, Newcastle disease and rabies in sheep, enterotoxaemia and others. From invasive diseases: flat, ribbon-shaped, roundworms, blood-borne diseases, and so on. Non-infectious diseases include pathological drugs made from atrophied, distorted organs, as well as from the internal organs of the cardiovascular system, metabolic disorders, digestive, respiratory and urinary tract organs and other diseases. These museums plays an important role in the training of future veterinarians.


In 2012, a sewing circle belonging to the Department of Sewing Production was put into operation and under the tutelage of 2 laborers and with 20-30 students, work was started. The work of the sewing team has been expanded, and today 40-50 students go to the organization in their free time to study and learn the subtleties of sewing. Under the direction of the head of the department, senior teacher Gyzylgul Paltayeva, and under the tutelage of teacher Guljehre Karaeva, laboratory assistant Maya Ilyasova the students do the work of drawing, performing, cutting, embroidering and sewing with great enthusiasm. The sewing machine currently has twenty Juki straight needle sewing machines, two Janome sewing machines, one Gemse sewing machine, Janome 350 E type eight one-needle embroidery sewing machines, five Janome 450 E-needle embroidery machines, two Juki MB-4 four-needle embroidery machines. Students also learn how to disassemble, repair, and lubricate these sewing machines with free use, and are able to do it on their own. The event was also attended by students under the tutelage of the teachers of the department, who took part in the contest of talented fashion designers-designers of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, 2017, who sewed, prepared and decorated modern fashionable clothes. She won the 3rd place on June 4, with a Certificate of Merit, with a Certificate of Merit on May 28, 2018, and with the Certificate of the Designer of the Year on October 16, 2019.
